Secure bridging to other DRM systems

Conax has developed a DRM Control solution that controls secure transfer of content from the broadcaster through to the various consumer devices in the home.

In the broadcast environment, content is secured using Conax content protection, which provides the highest level of security available. Inside the home environment, protection of the content will be handled by a different DRM system that is supported by the relevant consumer devices.

The bridging process is securely controlled by Conax Contego™, ensuring that you remain in full control of which content is made available on the DRM domain, and how the content can be used in that domain. Conax Contego™ DRM Control provides operators with the ability to determine how the content can be consumed on various devices, controlling features such as:

  • Downscaling of HD content
  • Copy control (copy freely, copy once, copy never)
  • Retention limit for time-shift
  • Trick-play control, e.g. no fast-forward during commercials
