Berit Svendsen appointed CEO of Conax

Conax, a leading provider of conditional access solutions, today announced that its Board of Directors has appointed Berit Svendsen as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Conax.

Berit Svendsen comes from Telenor Norway where she is Vice President and Head of Product & IS responsible for both the fixed and mobile networks in Norway. Berit joined Telenor in 1988 as a Research Scientist. From 2000 to 2005 she was Executive Vice President and CTO of Telenor and also functioning Chair of Telenor R&D. In January 2005 she took the position of Vice President of Telenor Nordic Fixed with overall responsibility for the fixed network in Norway.

Born in 1963, Berit Svendsen holds an MSc in Electronics from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) (1988), and a Master of Technology Management from NTNU and MIT, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA (1995). From 2002 to 2007 Berit Svendsen was a member of the European Commission / IST Advisory Group.
