PlusTV and Conax have signed a contract for Pay-TV operations in Finland

Digi TV Plus Oy is a new digital pay-TV company which has been established in Finland this spring to lead the way in offering quality content on the digital terrestrial television (DTT) network. The company's services will be marketed to customers under the name PlusTV and will be available in November this year. During the first stage, PlusTV will be the sole supplier of MTV MEDIA's digital pay-TV services to Finnish antenna households. Other TV broadcasters' channels will be added gradually and the service will reach its final form early September 2007, by which time Finland will have made a complete transfer to digital television broadcasting.

"We are offering roughly one million antenna households a chance to receive a broad and varied selection of TV channels, and to run the operations we need strong partners especially within the Smart Card and encryption area" says Niclas Fagerlund, the COO of PlusTV. "PlusTV's objective is to become the leading pay-TV operator in the Finnish market", he adds.

PlusTV holds exclusive rights to the distribution of MTV MEDIA's pay-TV channels to antenna households. Negotiations with other Domestic and International Channels are well in process, with agreements waiting to be signed as soon as the Government grants the next round of digital channel licenses during this autumn.

PlusTV's services will be available to all antenna households. More than 500,000 set top boxes with a card slot have already been purchased by Finnish consumers.
