Trick mode

Full-function media stream control capabilities including play, pause, stop, fast forward, fast backward, step forward, step backward and random access.

Transponder

A wireless communications, monitoring and control device that picks up and automatically responds to an incoming signal. The term is a contraction of transmitter and responder.

Transport protection

Mechanism that protects the distribution of media files through a network.

Transport stream

Commonly abbreviated TS. Format for transmission of DVB content. A multiplex of several program streams that are carried in packets.

3DES

Short for triple DES. An encryption configuration in which the DES algorithm is used three times with different keys. See also AES.

T-DMB

Short for Terrestrial-DMB. See DMB.

Tamper proof

The property in data security equipment that provides facilities for preventing attempts to tamper with the equipment.

TCP/IP

Short for Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol. The protocol used on the Internet.
